Owls Class 28.5.21
Good afternoon parents and carers,
Another good week in Owls class.
In Maths, we have been learning how to find percentages of a number. We have also found out that division can help us to do this - particularly that we can divide a number by 5 to get 20%.
In Literacy, we have been writing the introductions to our ghost stories and thinking about how to set the scene of the story using description.
In Geography, we have been learning more about North America. In particular, we have explored the different biomes which make up the continent and learned about the remarkable Mississippi river.
During Science, this week, we have been learning about the famous fossil hunter Mary Anning who was an expert in the field of fossil hunting and the inspiration for the tongue-twister 'She sells sea shells on the sea shore'. We enjoyed making 'fossils' out of salt dough.
The Year 6 children are making good progress towards their Leavers assembly.
We wish all the children an enjoyable and restful half-term and look forward to seeing them back on Monday 7th June.
