Congratulations to the children who were awarded star of the week and tackling tables certificates this week. Keep up the hard work.
In literacy this week we have focused on experiences using our senses.
By using sight, smell, and touch to explore lavender, candles and grated coconut, the children used their knowledge to create a word bank of vocabulary for smell and put these into a negative and positive order. This helped us to build descriptive sentences to tell the reader about the smells on the street outside the mysterious Nowhere Emporium.
In maths, we have moved onto representing and understanding numbers up to 1,000,000. The children have been working hard at understanding numerals and written numbers using commas to help us partition them.
In history this week, the children worked on creating a mind map of how and why Baghdad 900ce was built.
In art, we have created four of our own modernist chairs, labelling them with materials, design features and simplistic details.
Spellings have been sent out via pupil asset – our spelling test will take place on Friday. Please encourage your child to practice at home.
Thank- you for your continued support.
Mrs Bussey and Mrs Gosling.
