Maths board games and group story boards during residential.

Some of the children from Magpies were on residential this week, so the rest of us did some different activities in Maths and Literacy.

This week in Literacy, the children made their own storyboards. However, in pairs, children could only write one part of the story. They then had to swap their storyboard with another pair who added to their story. We did this until we had several fascinating stories with contributions from at least 12 children.

In Maths, children worked in groups to create mathematical board games. We then had time to go around the room and play each other's games.

This week in History, we looked at how different WWI was to any wars before. We explored how it was fought on land, at sea and in the air.

In science, we have started to look at blood pressure, heart rate and healthy hearts. Children have been finding their own pulse rates and trying to calculate their beats per minute (bpm).

Best wishes,

Miss Roche, Miss Garrod and Mrs Satkauskiene.
