Congratulations to those who received star of the week and tackling tables certificates this week. Keep up the hard work.

This week in Literacy we have used drama techniques to interview members of the crowd about what is happening outside The Nowhere Emporium. The children got into character, taking it in turns to be a police officer and members of the crowd. The children worked incredibly hard and some performed their interviews in front of the class.

In Maths, we have been learning about the power of 10. Moving place value columns to the left when making a number 10/100/1000 times bigger. The children have used concrete resources to aid their learning.

In art, we have been designing our own abstract art. The children have been putting their knowledge of abstract art into a plan ready for their final piece. This week we used pastels, making sure to keep our lines vertical and horizontal.

In history, we have created our own drawings of the layout of Baghdad 900CE and labelled specific areas which were of importance.

In computing, we have learnt about plagiarism and making sure to use citations when taking information from other sources. The children have also learnt how to use copy and paste on the computer.

Spellings are sent out on a Monday. Please encourage your child to practice these at home.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Bussey and Mrs Gosling.
