Congratulations to the children who received Star of the Week and tackling tables certificates this week. Keep up the hard work.
Canaries have had a fantastic week.
We have been using place value charts and counters to help us with partitioning numbers up to 1,000,000. The children have been able to use their number knowledge to use flexible partitioning.
In Fred's reading, we moved onto our next unit about Roald Dahl. The children are very interested in this unit as they are familiar with Roald Dahl stories. We have looked at different books and discussed story lines. In this particular lesson we were using our dictionaries to find out about the key vocabulary we will be using over the next two weeks.
In literacy, we are working on our sentence stacking lessons. We will shortly be planning and drafting our independent writing.
In art, the children have planned and finished their abstract art as well as evaluated it. They really enjoyed this module and worked extremely hard on their final piece. We will then move onto our Design Technology module, where we will create a felt phone case.
P.E will continue on Tuesday afternoon. Our spelling test will take place on Friday. Please encourage your child to practice their spelling at home.
We try to change reading books once a week. Please encourage your child to read at home at least three times a week.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs Bussey and Mrs Gosling.
