
Throughout the first weeks of the autumn term, the children have been taking part in a number of lessons that will help improve that ability to play the sport.
🏀 Fundamental Basketball Skills
- Dribbling – controlling the ball while moving.
 - Passing – chest pass, bounce pass, overhead pass.
 - Shooting – layups, jump shots, free throws.
 - Defensive skills – positioning, blocking, stealing.
 - Footwork – pivoting, shuffling, and quick directional changes.
 
💪 Physical Development
- Coordination – hand-eye and overall body coordination.
 - Agility – quick movements and changes in direction.
 - Strength and endurance – through running and jumping.
 - Balance – maintaining control during movement.
 
🧠 Mental and Social Skills
- Teamwork – working together and communicating.
 - Strategy and decision-making – choosing when to pass, shoot, or defend.
 - Confidence and resilience – learning from mistakes and staying motivated.
 - Sportsmanship – respecting others and playing fair.
 
When the children combine a number of these skills, it enables to show their full potential during a match.
