This week, Penguins have continued their work on place value and understanding numbers. They have been working on partitioning numbers, adding 1, 10, 100 or 1000 more than a given number. It has been tricky, and they will be continuing their work with that next week.
In Literacy, the children have been continuing their sentence stacking work to help them write their own non-fiction piece of writing. Penguins have also been learning how to use their dictionaries to locate words, word classes and definitions.
In science, the children have been learning about the different vitamins and minerals found in food. Penguins focused on writing about the different vitamins, where they can be found and how they help the human body.
Penguins have also been working on their understanding of verbs and adverbs to aid them in their independent writing.
