Congratulations to the children who received Star of the week, tackling tables certificates and headteachers award this week. Keep up the hard work.

We have been working on our timestables skills. Each day we spend time practising and learning our tables. Well done to those children who passed their tackling tables tests this week, a fantastic achievement.

In literacy, we have come to the end of our sentence stacking lessons and will be starting to plan and organise our ideas for our independent writing before half-term.

In History, we have learnt about the Mongol attack on Baghdad in 1258CE. The children were particularly interested in why the books from The House of Wisdom were thrown into the Tigris River. We learnt all about Hulagu Khan and how he was building his own Empire.

In maths, we have been comparing numbers to 100,000. Using vocabulary such as greater than and less than.

P.E will continue on a Tuesday afternoon: black shorts or jogging bottoms, white T-shirt, black jacket and trainers.

Our spelling test will take place on a Friday. Spellings will be sent out via email and printed to take home each week. Please encourage your child to practice at home as well as read three times a week.

Thank you for your continued support

Mrs Bussey and Mrs Gosling.
