Practising our painting skills!
Puffins have had a great start to the new school year. Here are some of our highlights.
Phonics: We have been learning all the different ways to spell the 'ee' sound.
Literacy: Our new book to base our learning around is, 'Red Riding Hood' by Lari Don. We are exploring adjectives and using them to make descriptive sentences.
Maths: We are learning about place value within ten. So far this half-term, we have practised counting on, adding one more, using ten frames and number tracks. This week we are using number tracks to help us count back from 10-0.
Science: This half-term we are investigating the human body and the senses. We have learnt how sight and sound works. This week we are using our noses to explore some sniff pots.
Music: We have been practising our rhythm by using glockenspiels to play in time with the music.
Art: This half-term we are learning about colour. We have studied the work of Piet Mondrian and created our own paintings in his style.
