week beginning 29.9.25

Look what I dug up!

Puffins have had a great week of learning. Here are some of our highlights.

Phonics

We are learning all the different ways to spell the 'oa' sound.

Literacy

This week we learnt about alliteration and used it to describe the flowers that Red Riding Hood picked for her Grandma.

Maths

We have been comparing and matching groups. We have also been identifying groups which are 'fewer', 'more' or the 'same'.

Science

This week we investigated the sense of touch and taste. We used our sense of touch to identify items from a feely bag. We held a taste challenge experiment with lemon curd and marmite. Lemon curd was a clear winner!

History

This week we explored archaeological finds. We looked at some finds from Must Farm and discussed their use and what it told us about the way people lived. We also had a go at doing our own archaeological dig.

Art

We continued to practise our use of tints and shades. This week we created a splash effect by using wax crayons to draw a splash and then painting over it with different shades of blue.

Things to Remember:

Homework – Read to an adult every night.

Tuesday – PE

Thursday – Library.

Best Wishes Mrs Mac and Mrs Oliver
