Week Beginning 10.03.25

Congratulations to the children who received star of the week awards, handwriting and presentation certificates and head teachers awards this week. Keep up the hard work!

In R. E this week, the children have been looking at peace. They have been comparing peace across different religions and created their very own Dove of peace.

In DT, the children worked in groups of 5 and 6 to come up with a roller-coaster design. They have given their roller-coaster a name, a theme and have listed the materials they need to create it. One of the aims of the session was to work in teams, giving everyone their own job or task and using debate and discussion to agree on a final design. It was fantastic to observe them working together and presenting their ideas to the rest of the class. Please send in any toilet roll holders/ tubes and small amounts of recycling for our next lesson, which should take place on Friday. The children will be building their roller-coaster.

Canaries had a great day for World Book Day. Lots of the children dressed up and brought in their favourite books. We listened to each child telling the sequence of their stories and wrote a book report based on The Highway Rat in preparation for the poem we will be writing in literacy.

Our spelling test will take place on Thursday this week due to other commitments in school. The children will receive their new spellings as planned on Wednesday.

Our library slot will continue on Monday's, please encourage your children to read as much as possible at home.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Bussey, Mrs Gosling and Mrs Fyson.
