In science we have been learning about vitamins and minerals and how they support the body. Next week the class will be challenged to design a healthy meal to support someone with a disease related to a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

We have finished our story of Theseus and the Minotaur and will soon be using all our hard work building strong sentences to write an extended independent write.

In literacy we are learning how to write precise sentences based around the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.

This week the Year 4 children were kindly presented with their own copies of a dictionary donated by the Kings Lynn Rotary Club.

In maths lessons we are working on developing and deepening our understanding of place value in number.

Design Technology has a circus theme this term. Our children are designing and making their own juggling ball. So far they have completed their designs and are applying them to their fabric templates before sewing them in future lessons.

Kingfishers enjoyed some outdoor learning as a way of inspiring their literacy. They have been learning about the book's character Jub and her adventures in the forest. Kingfishers have been tasked with writing a descriptive poem about Jub's home in the forest. So they explored four of their five senses outdoors (we didn't let them taste them!). They will use this to inspire some descriptive poetry writing.

In their science lesson, Kingfishers wrote a report and drew a diagram of the stages of the life cycle of a frog.
