Academy Develpoment Plan 2021/22
We have recently reviewed our Academy Development Plan (ADP) in order to ensure continued & sustained improvement at Eastgate Academy. The new ADP builds on progress that the school had made since its Outstanding Ofsted inspection in January 2017.
The over-arching principle of our ADP for 2021/22 are to provide outstanding education which will allow our children to develop their love of learning and close the gaps caused by Covid lockdowns. Although we had 100% interaction with our families throughout lockdown there are still gaps in their learning which we need to address. To support our families through this difficult period we are opening our own food and clothes bank from January 22.
The full plan is available to download below but, for your information, our Core Priorities for 2021/22 are:
Develop the use of research to ensure high quality teaching so that pupils (& groups of pupils) develop detailed knowledge and skills in order to achieve the best possible outcomes in all knowledge based curriculum areas.
To ensure all children receive a broad and balanced knowledge rich curriculum, brought to life through enquiry-based learning.
Using data as a starting point for assessment and teaching.
Supporting the Wellbeing of our local community - signposting parents to help.
To deliver high quality Initial Teacher Training in order to recruit and retain outstanding teachers for West Norfolk.
